 About UCEAP

Our Mission

Through international academic experiences, the University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP) inspires students to explore and transform their lives, UC and the world.

Since 1962, UCEAP has supported this mission, serving some 100,000 students across all 10 UC campuses and over 32,000 international exchange students. Sustained by strong academic excellence, spirited faculty collaboration and an interrelated support system, UCEAP produces future global citizens and thought leaders.

UCEAP Difference

UCEAP is the only study abroad provider representing the entire University of California system. Our partner universities span 40 countries worldwide, and our UC-approved programs are fully integrated to offer UC credit, grades and financial aid. We support the global economy by cultivating mature scholars with the international experience and cross-cultural skills vital to success. Students can travel, learn and live abroad during any UC academic term—from a summer, quarter or semester, or for the best value, an entire year. Quality assured by UC faculty, our programs are placed in a variety of settings to accommodate learners of all majors, interests and backgrounds. Students will find UCEAP in rainforests, islands, major world capitals, vast classrooms, specialized labs, small liberal arts colleges and leading institutions alike. Our focus is on helping students meet their life goals and thrive long after graduation. Through immersive language study, educational trips, internships and research we invite students to explore new cultures, gain valuable professional training, and become globally conscious and involved.
