Director’s Announcement: $3,000 Scholarship Opportunity for UCEAP Returnees
DATE: 5/14/2012
In furthering our mission of providing “Study Abroad for All,” the program aims to inspire and support prospective applicants who may not have previously considered studying abroad. We recognize the powerful impact returnee experiences can have on a student’s decision to study abroad and will thus be providing ambassadors with the tools and training to actively raise awareness and interest in UCEAP on their home campus.
This is a wonderful opportunity for returnees to share their life-changing memories with fellow students while gaining leadership experience and building career skills. Student Ambassadors will receive funding to travel to a two-day orientation in Santa Barbara. Throughout the year, they will work with 2–3 fellow ambassadors on their campus to plan engaging events and activities, make presentations to clubs, classrooms, residence halls, etc., as well as answer student inquiries via Facebook and the web.
We seek to make this program available to all UC students who have studied abroad with UCEAP, and appreciate your support in getting the word out for returnees to apply. Applications are due
May 30th, 2012. See the
UCEAP Student Ambassador web page for details.
Please share this message with students who may benefit from this opportunity.
