Exclusive Travel Awards Opportunity for UC Students Studying Abroad in Spring 2014
DATE: 4/3/2013
Dedicated travel awards to offset airfare costs encourage UC students to study abroad next spring on a variety of programs designed to take them closer to their academic and career goals.
Santa Barbara, CA (April 2013) — The University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP) is now accepting applications for study abroad in Spring 2014 on a variety of programs designed to take UC students closer to their academic and career goals - whether they are interested in accelerating language studies, developing a career path through an internship or research project, or fulfilling major requirements. The first 60 students to book travel to their UCEAP destination through STA Travel will receive a travel award worth $200 to offset their airfare (exclusive for Spring 2014 departures).
Additionally, with dedicated Scholarships for Spring 2014 programs, it’s never been easier for UC students to take their UC studies across the world.
Students can apply for the Spring 2014 study abroad opportunities in the following areas:
Career-Starters: Get a head start on your future through an internship or research project abroad. As built-in program components, you may network with leading experts in your field, build cross-cultural skills, and gain practical work experience while earning UC credit.
STEM Majors: Having trouble breaking away from your degree in the sciences, technology, engineering, or math to go abroad? We've tailored these programs specifically for UC students in the sciences  so that you may not only continue your studies, but excel in them.
Great World Capitals: These urban hubs are the ideal landing spots for culture vultures like you—from the museums of Paris to the street stalls of Beijing, and all that's in between. If you've always wanted to live in an exciting world capital, look no further than here.
Global Health & Development: Eager to make a difference now, even before graduation and Peace Corps? You will find an opportunity for true global citizenry and cultural exchange in these life-changing programs. Work with children in Rio's favelas, study sustainable practices in the deserts of Israel, and more.
Studies in English: These programs taught in English allow you to advance in your major while gaining global perspectives. There is no need for previous language experience. Plus, several programs are in countries where English is a primary language.
Exploring a New Language & Culture
If you are at the beginning or intermediate level in your language studies, programs in Germany, Italy, Japan, and Spain may be just what you need to get to the next level.
Visit the UCEAP website today to learn more about how to apply for study abroad and take advantage of our exclusive STA Travel Awards for spring.
