 Study Abroad in Mexico

Mexico City is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world, rivaling Paris, France in its number of unique museums and cultural attractions. Professionally and academically, Mexico offers exceptional settings for Spanish language acquisition, independent research, human rights internships, and projects in government ministries and NGOs. Program trips to ancient murals, pyramids and other historic sites add to the discovery.

At the National Autonomous University (UNAM), you will join a community of scholars who visit from all over the Americas for intellectual exchange. UNAM’s many course offerings range from stage production, art and politics to the Aztec Nahuatl and other indigenous languages. In the Field Research Program, receive specialized training in how to develop, investigate and present a research project. Or, explore binational affairs and receive leadership training in the Mexico-Sacramento multi-site program.

In collaboration with President Napolitano's UC-Mexico Initiative, UCEAP offers up to 25 scholarships in the amount of $2,000 to undergraduate students studying abroad in Mexico for the fall, spring or year terms. Students going to the summer program may apply for a scholarship of $1,000.
