Film classes are offered at both the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA at the Southbank campus) and at the Parkville campus. At the VCA, Film and Television specializes in animation, documentary, narrative, production and screenwriting. The Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination (EBCCI) is the leading film training facility in the Caribbean. The University of Copenhagen offers coursework in film, television and media through the Department of Media, Cognition and Communication. As an exchange student at the Université Bordeaux Montaigne, you will have access to the courses in the Cinéma et Audiovisuel degree. These courses articulate film theory and practice and promote an approach to cinema that is inclusive of other artistic fields and media. You will receive an overview of professional cinema and the audiovisual network. Many instructors are cinema professionals who pass on their experience (screenwriter, editor, cameraman, producer, director, lawyer specialized in audiovisual, etc.), with different types of practical work such as directing, editing or production.

Due to its large teaching infrastructure, it has one of the highest annual film production rates of any school in the world.
