Univ. of Dar es Salaam
Learn about Tanzania, its development and diverse people through life and study in Dar es Salaam.

Dar es Salaam offers the excitement of a major African city, with an active seaport, distinct neighborhoods, and welcoming locals. The city provides a unique mix of African, Arab and Indian cultures, languages, and religions set among beautiful beaches and colorful markets. Once a simple fishing village, Dar is now the largest city and the country’s center of business, commerce, and culture.

Through program classes, Kiswahili language study, courses taught by University of Dar es Salaam faculty, and excursions to Zanzibar and national parks, gain a direct understanding of this nation, its challenges and choices, and its role within East Africa.

Community service and internships provide additional opportunities for students to engage and contribute.

Students attend classes with international and/or host country students.
