Extracurricular Activities

University College Utrecht has a variety of extracurricular activities on campus and encourages exchange students to participate. There is a large student sports center about ten minutes from the campus as well as numerous student sports clubs in the city. Joining a student organization is a good way to expand your circle of acquaintances and make new friends.

UCU students will receive a student card, which provides access to libraries, computer facilities, and discounts on sports and cultural events.

Visit the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) to find out about activities such as excursions, city trips, theme and international parties and sporting events that help international students integrate into the Utrecht student life.

On-site Support

UCEAP students are supported by UC’s network of EAP offices at every UC campus and partnerships with UCEAP host universities throughout the world. The UCU International Office staff and a local UCEAP staff member will help you integrate into the culture and provide assistance with academics. University College Utrecht assigns you a tutor who can assist you with personal as well as academic matters.

University College Utrecht

university college utrecht
The University College Utrecht, founded in 1999, is an honors college specifically centered on the liberal arts and sciences. Hosting only about 700 students, UCU’s campus is housed on an old military base originally titled Kromhout Kazerne.
Among the special characteristics of UCU are its small classes, its system of individual advisors called “tutors,” and its informal environment that encourages individual attention and lively intellectual exchange among students and instructors.  The College specializes in undergraduate teaching and strives to connect rather than isolate fields of study, challenging you to integrate different aspects of your curriculum. Given its small size and residential character, you will quickly get to know other students, so it is a friendly place to reside and study.
Participation in UCEAP is a great value! The cost of studying abroad on UCEAP programs is typically less than that of non-UC study abroad programs. The dollar figures listed in the chart below represent an estimate of: 1) the UCEAP fees for the current year, and 2) the additional amount needed to cover your living expenses in this location. Estimates for personal travel, entertainment and Non-Resident (out of state) Fees are not included.
Keep in mind that on UCEAP you take your financial aid with you. The amount of your financial aid package will take into account the total estimated costs of this experience. One advantage of selecting UCEAP for study abroad is that we facilitate the process by working with your UC Financial Aid Office (FAO), informing them of your UCEAP participation and providing them with your UCEAP budget. Just like your UC Campus billing office, we receive your financial aid and scholarships from your FAO, apply it to cover the UCEAP program fees, and disburse any remaining aid on a set schedule.
