Internships, Research, and Independent Study
Internships, Research & Independent Study You can access local service-learning internships for academic credit on this program. A variety of volunteer and non-credit internship opportunities are also available with the U.S. consulate, the Vietnam Economic Times, and various NGOs. Many UCEAP students volunteer teaching English to middle school children in an underprivileged village. Volunteer positions are common, especially teaching English for nonprofits.
Other formal internships will require your initiative to organize them in advance. For instance, at the U.S. embassy security checks can take more than six months to complete. Consider specific skills you can contribute to the organization, and be prepared to devote time to your internship.
Arrangements are made at the Study Center after arrival.
