International House special events and resources

Housing is not guaranteed.  The standard rental period for some housing options is nine months (or until the end of the academic year for students arriving in January). Students leaving their housing before the end of the agreement may be subject to a cancellation fee.

Application:  Email your name, UC Davis student ID number, best contact information, and rank your preferred occupancy to Student Housing and ask to be added to the "wait list." Identify yourself as an UCEAP student in the text of your message and in the subject line include your name and "UCEAP Wait List."

Notes: First year students receive priority placement in campus housing. After this priority group is housed, more advanced students can be placed. You are encouraged to simultaneously research other housing options as a residential hall housing contract offer cannot be guaranteed.

Notification of Housing Assignment: Begins in early-mid November. Offers are made on a space available basis.

Arrival Information & Orientation


When should I arrive?: No later than January 6, 2019; No earlier than December 3, 2018.

You may arrive no more than 30 days prior to the start date printed on your visa certificate of eligibility (DS-2019). Students who do not have pre-arranged housing should arrive as early as possible.

Pass 2 Times: To be announced
See email for instructions. Enrollment limit is 19 units. You may wait list courses. Drop unwanted courses before adding new courses.

Open Registration: November 17 - 25 and December 8 - 14, 2018
Open Registration Hours:  Enroll Monday - Friday from 6:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m., Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. No appointment necessary.

Registration Freeze: December 15, 12:00 a.m. - December 19, 5:59 a.m.

Schedule Adjustment Period: December 19, 6:00 a.m. - February 11, 2019 at 11:59 p.m.

Prerequisite Checking
Schedule Builder will check to see if you have completed the required prerequisites for all courses.Instructors will remove you from the class if you cannot demonstrate completion of course prerequisites.  Contact an advisor if you have questions about whether or not you meet the prerequisites for a course.

Graduate students usually register after consultation with the department’s graduate advisor. Check with your host department for registration advising.
Financial Information

Student Information System (SISWeb): View your student account.
Financial information is available online. You are responsible for checking your student account regularly and paying any fees that apply.

MyBill Online Payments: Enjoy the convenience of online payment.  No paper statement will be sent to you.

International Student ​Orientation Fee: $95 (subject to change) will be billed to your UC Davis account; Orientation includes refreshments.

Health Insurance Fees: Fees will be billed to your account each quarter.  See Health Insurance & Services information.

Requirement: Students are automatically enrolled in the University’s Student Health Insurance Plan, unless they complete a waiver form that provides proof of equivalent coverage, and it is approved. 

Cost: $762 per quarter (undergraduates); $1,450 per quarter (graduates)

Payment Deadline:
Fall quarter: September 15, 2018
Winter quarter: December 15, 2018
Spring quarter: March 15, 2019
Effective Dates:
Fall: September 24, 2018 - January 3, 2019
Winter: January 4, 2019 - March 27, 2019
Spring/Summer*: March 28, 2019 - September 22, 2019
*If you are a registered student during Spring quarter, your spring SHIP fee provides coverage through the end of Summer.
