Housing is not guaranteed. Be aware that the standard rental contract for housing accommodations is nine months (or until the end of the academic year for students arriving in January). Students leaving their housing before the end of the agreement may be subject to a cancellation fee.

Arrival Information & Orientation



When should I arrive? No later than to be announced; no earlier than December 3, 2018

You may arrive no more than 30 days prior to the start date printed on your visa certificate of eligibility (DS-2019). Students who do not have pre-arranged housing are advised to arrive as early as possible.

Enrollment Period: Students must contact their college advisor for help with course enrollment.
Business Administration: Students must meet with academic advisor Lata Patel prior to registration for classes. Business courses are open to business majors only.

College of Engineering: Academic advisor is Tara Brown.
College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences: Academic advisor is Denise Correll.

Note: The registration system might require proof of completion of a prerequisite for registration in certain courses. Students who have completed coursework at their home university equivalent to the prerequisite course(s) required should contact their major advisor  for authorization to enroll in the course.
Graduate students: Graduate students usually register after consultation with the departmental graduate advisor. Check with your host department for registration advising.
Financial Information

R'Web: View your student account. Financial information is available online. You are responsible for checking your student account regularly and paying any fees that apply.

Paying Fees 

Student Technology Course Materials Fee (CMF): $4 per unit for undergraduates and $2 per unit for graduates will be billed to your student account. The fee is non-refundable after the third week of instruction.  

International Student ​Orientation Fee: $40 (subject to change) will be billed to your student account; orientation includes refreshments. 

R'Card (ID card): $25 will be billed to your student account.

Health Insurance Fees: Fees will be billed to your account each quarter. See Health Insurance information.

Health Insurance & Services

​2017-18 costs and information are listed below. Information for 2018-19 is not yet available.

Requirement: Students are automatically enrolled in the University’s Student Health Insurance Plan, unless they complete a waiver form that provides proof of equivalent coverage, and it is approved.

Cost: $585.92 per quarter (undergraduates); $1,188.07 per quarter (graduates)
Billing: Each quarter

Payment Deadline: Reciprocity students may pay as soon as they arrive on campus.
Fall: September 14, 2018
Winter: December 15, 2018
Spring: March 15, 2019
Effective Dates:
Fall: September 25, 2017 - January 2, 2018
(Early effective date for international students arriving in the fall is September 11, 2017)
Winter: January 3, 2018 - March 27, 2018
Spring/Summer*: March 28, 2018 - September 23, 2018
*Insurance under USHIP for eligible students enrolled for the Spring quarter will extend through the end of Summer.
