Diverse Options

EAP offers a comprehensive selection of program formats, including:

  • Immersion programs in which UC students take regular classes taught by host university faculty and study alongside local students
  • Language and culture programs, which provide language training at various levels and familiarize students with the host culture and society
  • Special-focus programs that offer courses on specific disciplines and related subjects, and/or interdisciplinary perspectives
  • General education programs, which allow students to complete diverse UC breadth requirements
  • Advanced graduate course work, research opportunities, or training

The majority of EAP programs have traditionally been immersion programs or language and culture programs. However, EAP has recently developed several new program models, representing innovative interdisciplinary study of contemporary issues, pioneering collaborative instructional efforts between UC and partner institution faculty members, and providing research, internship, and laboratory opportunities for UC students.
