Global Citizens
The UC Education Abroad Program plays a key role in producing the global citizens of today and leaders of tomorrow. Sustained by academic excellence, faculty involvement, international prominence, and partnerships with each UC campus and over 150 top universities worldwide, EAP is of increasing importance to the international relations of the University of California.
EAP helps students attain academic, professional, and personal goals, and familiarizes students with diverse languages, traditions, perspectives, and cultural values. It also gives students the opportunity to learn through research, internships, and volunteer service in local communities. In doing so, EAP produces well-rounded international citizens who are aware of, and prepared to work in, the global arena.
In its relationships throughout the world, EAP also engages UC faculty as Study Center Directors, Visiting Professors, instructors in joint/collaborative programs, and participants in program reviews. EAP service contributes to the quality of UC instruction and research, as it provides an opportunity for international consult and collaboration.
In promoting partnerships that are founded in exchange, research innovation, academic learning, international diplomacy, and economic relations, EAP makes essential contributions to the present and future social, political, scientific, artistic, and economic well-being and growth of the State of California.
