Course Description

 

This course is designed for UC students who participate in the Tsuru program. The purposes of this course are to practice daily conversation, review basic grammar, strengthen listening comprehension, and master kanji and vocabulary necessary for regular Tsuru University courses. It emphasizes reading and writing kanji (250-300 kanji), including calligraphy practice; reading comprehension including reading articles and understanding long sentences; reinforcing vocabulary and learning idioms; and comprehension of videos followed by compositions. Students write a 600-word composition and give short speeches based on compositions. Text is TOTAL JAPANESE. * This is a 7-week intensive language component of a 20-week course.
