In this course, students learn to understand fairly complicated sentence structures and improve the ability to read written pieces on various topics. Students learn to derive the meaning of a new kanji compound by knowing the meaning of the separate component kanji. They read passages from intermediate level texts, simple newspaper articles, and simple literature.
