Highlights

The spring Economics and Business Program is at Fudan University, which is ranked as one of the best universities in China and internationally recognized for its academic excellence. As China’s fastest growing metropolis and a prominent hub for international economic and financial activities, Shanghai and the Yangtze Delta economy provide an ideal locale for case studies of economic development in a changing cultural and political environment. Duration

Spring semester: mid-February to mid-July (calendar)

Students interested in attending the summer intensive language program at ECNU following the spring Fudan program are strongly encouraged to indicate interest in the combination option at time of application.

Academic Focus

Chinese economics, development, and business; China’s rapidly increasing role in the world economy and international relations; and Chinese culture and society in the era of globalization.

  • Chinese Economic Reform and Development (required core course)
  • Dynamics of the Chinese Economy
  • Marketing Management
  • Financial Development in China
  • Chinese Culture, Society, and Globalization
  • Chinese Language (beginning and intermediate)

Students attend classes with UC and host university students.

Language of Instruction

English

Language Study

Prior Chinese language study is not required, but it is highly recommended.

Units

Students are required to take a full-time course of study while abroad; 24 UC quarter units are required.

Housing

Students live with international and UC students on campus in student dormitories. (details)
