Fall students are encouraged to apply to extend their EAP participation to the year program.

Academic Focus

Full curriculum in the arts, humanities, business administration, engineering, science, and social sciences. Chinese language study (Putonghua and Cantonese) is offered at elementary to advanced levels.

Students attend classes with international students and host country students.

Language of Instruction

English, Cantonese, Putonghua

Language Study

The study of Chinese (Putonghua or Cantonese) is not required although it is strongly recommended. A maximum of one 9-unit (6 CUHK credits) Chinese language course is permitted each term.

Units

Students are required to take a full-time course of study on EAP; 21 UC quarter units per semester are required, which is usually four or five courses depending on the number of units per course.

Housing

EAP students reside on campus in dormitories and share rooms with local students. Students also have the option of living off campus. (details)
