Highlights

Yonsei University’s International Summer School offers courses of general interest as well as ones on specifically Asian and Korean topics, taught by Korean, American, and other international instructors. (details)

Duration

Summer: mid-June to early August (calendar)

Qualified summer students may extend their EAP participation to the fall semester or academic year program at Yonsei University.

Academic Focus

General curriculum. Students may take Korean language classes at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels, and/or choose two to three courses taught in English on a wide variety of subjects, including Asian and Korean history, culture, literature, business, economics, society, and politics.

In the EAP Course Finder, summer courses are listed separately from semester courses and are designated by an “S” suffix on the course number.

Students attend classes with international students.

Language of Instruction

English and Korean (language classes)

Language Study

Korean language study is strongly recommended but is not required for students enrolled in the summer program only.

Units

Students are required to take a full-time course of study while abroad; 9 to 13.5 UC quarter units are required, which is two or three courses.

Housing

EAP students reside on campus in dormitories or off campus in apartments and share rooms with other exchange students. Students also have the option to make independent housing arrangements. (details)
