Denmark: Fall Semester in English - University of Copenhagen

Host Institution

University of Copenhagen

Highlights

The fall semester program at the University of Copenhagen offers courses in English or Danish. (details)

Duration

Fall semester: early August to late January (calendar)
Fall semester with ILP: late June to late January (calendar)

Students can arrange to complete exams by late December.

Extension is possible from the fall to the year EAP option at the University of Copenhagen.

Academic Focus

Students take regular university courses. Students who do not have foreign language proficiency choose from a wide array of courses taught in English. For course descriptions and additional information, see the EAP Course Information page.

Students attend classes with host country students, international students, and UC students.

Language of Instruction

English. Course work in Danish is available for those who are fluent.

Language Study

The fall semester program begins with a three-week survival Danish course, but students are encouraged to substitute the two-month EAP summer Language and Culture Program for this short introductory course. Students may apply for the combined summer Language and Culture Program and the fall semester program, in which case the three-week survival course is not part of the semester. During the regular semester, Danish language study is recommended, but not required.

Units

Students are required to take a full-time course of study on EAP.

Summer Language and Culture Program (optional): 6 to 13.5 UC quarter units. Students take two courses in Danish language.
Fall term: 18 to 24 UC quarter units. Students enroll in three to five courses, not including the initial Danish course.

Housing

Depending on availability, UC students will live in university-affiliated dormitories, rented rooms, or apartments with other UC students, international students, or host country students. (details)

Estimated Cost
