France: Science and Engineering Programs, University of Grenoble

Host Institution

University of Grenoble

Highlights

Advanced undergraduate and graduate students in most science and technology fields may study at the University of Grenoble’s two main scientific units: the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble (INPG) and Grenoble I, Joseph Fourier University (UJF). INPG’s 32 research labs are organized into electronics, process automation, and signal processing; computer science and applied math; materials and process engineering; mechanical engineering; and physics. About a third of UJF’s 77 research labs are associated with the INPG labs. Lab research is conducted in French and English with some seminars in English. EAP’s language prerequisite may be partially waived for advanced students. UJF offers most science and engineering fields, particularly geotechnical engineering, industrial computer science and instrumentation, environmental engineering, and materials engineering. The INGP also offers internship opportunities in French engineering firms. (details)

Duration

Fall semester: late August to late December (calendar)
Academic year: late August to May or June (calendar)

Qualified fall students may extend their participation to the year program in Grenoble.
