France: Intensive Language and Culture Program, University of Lyon

Highlights

This program provides intensive French language study at the intermediate (second year) level, and offers a specially-designed curriculum intended to improve oral and written language skills while providing a foundation in French culture and society. All course work is in French. The Lyon language and culture program is reserved for students with a solid three to four quarters (two to three semesters) of beginning university-level French. Duration

Fall semester: late August to mid- or late December (calendar)

Qualifed students may extend their participation to the Lyon spring semester with the approval of the Study Center Director and local university departments.

Students attend all classes with UC students.

Language Study

The curriculum is language based.

Units

Students are required to take a full-time course of study while abroad; 21 UC quarter units are required (approximately five courses).

Housing

Students are required to live in homestays (private homes) with French families. Housing is organized by the Study Center staff. (details)
