France: Immersion Program, University of Toulouse

Academic year: mid-August to late June (calendar)

Students are advised not to take political science courses at Toulouse. For course descriptions and additional information, see the Course Information page.

Students attend classes with international students, host country students, and UC students.

Language of Instruction

French

Language Study

Program begins with a three-week French intensive language program (ILP). Students take a language test upon arrival that determines the level of classes permitted during the first semester. Those who place in the two lowest levels must take a French language class during the year. Additionally, students are required to take a language course three hours per week that emphasizes writing.

Units

Students are required to take a full-time course of study while abroad.

ILP: 3 to 6 UC quarter units are required

Term: 18 UC quarter units are required

Housing

During part of the ILP, students live in a residence. Thereafter, students live in private homes, apartments, or studios with international students, host country students, or UC students. (details)
