France: Summer Language and Culture Program, UC Center in Paris

Highlights

This program offers intensive French language study for absolute beginners and students with up to two quarters (one semester) of university-level French. Taught in Paris during the summer, this program features a specially-designed curriculum intended to improve oral and written language skills. In addition to language study, the program includes culture courses taught in English. (details)

Summer quarter: late June to August (eight weeks) (calendar)

Qualified students may have the option to extend their participation to the UC Center Fall semester program in France with the approval of the Study Center Director and local university departments.

Academic Focus

Language of Instruction

French and English

Language Study

The curriculum is language based.

Units

Students are required to take a full-time course of study while abroad; approximately 14 UC quarter units are required (one language course and one elective).

Housing

Students live in dormitories with UC and other American students or in homestays with French families (private homes). Housing is organized by ACCENT, the program provider. (details)
