Academic Focus

Regular university courses. Most academic disciplines are available. Special opportunities are available in global economics. The EAP Study Center hires tutors to provide supplementary instruction for classes in which at least five UC students are enrolled. Tutorials provide background information through guided reading, discussions, weekly assignments, and research. Students receive UC credit for tutorial sessions. Independent study projects, supervised by a Georg-August faculty member, are also available in many fields.

For course descriptions and additional information, see the Course Information page.

Students attend classes with host country students, international students, and UC students.

Special Program Features

European and Global Economics: An exciting new program is being developed by the Economics Department at Göttingen for advanced undergraduates and graduates in the field of European and global economics. The Center for Globalization and Europeanization of the Economy (CEGE) offers course work in English with the goal of promoting a deeper understanding of the issues involved in this dynamic and important field.

Berlin Spring: Following the fall semester at Georg-August, a limited number of students may spend the spring at one of the Berlin-area universities. This program is for highly motivated students who have a demonstrated ability to work independently. Eligible students in carefully selected fields will be placed at one of the Berlin universities according to their specific academic needs and designated priority fields for each Berlin university. Students apply for this option during the fall semester in Göttingen. The EAP Study Center Director, in consultation with the Berlin universities, makes final selections for this option. See Immersion Programs, Berlin.
