Highlights

The University of Padova, founded in 1222, enrolls 50,000 students. In a recent survey, Padova ranked as the number one university in Italy. Padova is especially known for psychology, journalism, education, the sciences (especially biology and health sciences), mathematics, and the School of Dramatic Arts and Music Studies (DAMS). Academic Focus

Regular university courses. Most academic disciplines are available. Students attend classes with host country students and international students. In addition, a number of courses are taught in Italian at the UC Study Center. Fall students may enroll in a combination of Study Center courses and regular courses at the University of Padova. Language Study

Program begins with a four-week Italian intensive language program (ILP). Additional Italian language study may be required during the year.

Units

Students are required to take a full-time course of study on EAP.

Pre-ILP: 3 to 12 UC quarter units (details)
ILP: 3 to 6 UC quarter units (upper division)
Term: Semester and Academic Year students take a minimum 18 UC quarter units per semester, 36 units per year. The average course load is three to four courses per term.

Housing

Most year-long students live in university residences or private apartments with host country students, international students, or UC students. Homestays are also available. Semester students live in either university residences or homestays. (details)
