Italy: Course Information

Rome Semester Program
The following courses are required for all students:
- Italian language practicum (4.5 quarter units)
Italian 10 - Elementary Italian Practicum
Italian 11 Advanced Elementary Italian Practicum
Italian 50 Intermediate Italian Practicum
- Italian language extensive (4.0 quarter units)
Italian 13 Elementary Italian
Italian 14 Advanced Elementary Italian
Italian 51 Intermediate Italian
- Students select three of 10 to 12 core program courses (5.5
quarter units each).
Courses in the humanities and social sciences are designed to use the
city of Rome to understand the history, culture, and politics of ancient
and modern civilization. Courses vary from semester to semester, but
will be similar to those in previous semesters. Latin language tutorials
at the intermediate to advanced levels are also available and may substitute
for one of the core courses (not Italian language).
Siena Summer Quarter Program 2006
Three courses are required for all students: two consecutive Italian
language courses (at the beginning and advanced beginning level only)
and one Italian culture course:
- Italian language (6.0 quarter units each)
Italian 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 - Study Abroad: Italian
- Italian culture course (4.0 quarter units)
Italian 49 Italian History and Culture
In addition, students may opt to take a special study or internship
course for 2.0 quarter units, pass/no pass.
Siena Fall/Spring Semester Programs 2005-06
Four courses are required for all students: three consecutive Italian
language courses and one Italian culture course:
- Italian language (6.0 quarter units each)
Italian 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 - Study Abroad: Italian
- Italian culture course (6.0 quarter units)

Siena Spring Quarter
Program 2006
Four courses are required for all students: three consecutive Italian
language courses and one Italian culture course:
- Italian language (6.0 quarter units each)

- Italian culture course (6.0 quarter units)
Italian 55 Italian Culture and History
Siena Fall/Spring Semester Programs 2006-07
Four courses are required for all students: three consecutive Italian
language courses(beginning to early intermediate level only) and one Italian
culture course:
- Italian language (6.0 quarter units each)
