Mexico: Course Information

General Academic Programs

    Additional courses may be available at host universities or program locations and not all courses may still be offered. Since courses in new programs have not yet been taken for credit, they may not appear in Course Finder.

Special Curriculum Programs

The following programs have predetermined curricula designed for UC students.

Summer Intensive Language and Culture Program in Morelia

Four courses are required for all students (4.0 units each)

Field Research Programs

Four courses are required for all students:

  • Field Research Methods (5.0 UC quarter units)

  • Spanish 112, 113, 114, OR 115 depending on placement (5.0 UC quarter units)

  • Contemporary Mexico (4.5 UC quarter units)

  • Special Studies Research (9.0 UC quarter units)

Mexico-US Comparative Perspectives Program (suspended after 2007-08)

Four out of five available courses are required for all students (4.0 UC quarter units each; all of these classes are cross-listed in more than one subject area):

  • History and Culture of Migration
  • Mexican Muralism and its Cultural Interrelation with the United States
  • Mexican Culture Across Borders: Film, Music, Literature
  • Mexico - US Economic Relations
  • Cities in Transition: Mexico City and Los Angeles
