Mexico: Housing and Meals

Summary

National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Mexico City

Students may arrange their own housing, or they may choose pre-arranged housing in apartments or private homes for the first month of the program, then find their own housing after the ILP if they want to move. Students live with international students, UC students, and/or host country students.

Tec de Monterrey - Fall Semester, Spring Semester, and Academic Year Programs (canceled after 2007-08)

Students may live in university residence halls (single or double rooms) or with host families. A third option is for students to find their own housing in the community with host country students and international students.

Tec de Monterrey – Graduate Business Program (canceled after 2007-08)

Students may live in university residence halls, with host families, or find their own housing in the community with host country students and international students.

Field Research Programs, Mexico City and Various Field Sites

In Mexico City, housing is pre-arranged by the program in apartments or private homes. Following the Mexico City portion of the program, students travel to their research sites and are responsible for arranging their own housing. Depending on the research site, housing choices may be limited. Students live with international students, UC students, and/or host country students.

Intensive Language and Society Program in Morelia

Students are placed in pre-arranged homestays with host families. Due to the special nature of this program, UC students may not have spouses or dependents accompany them.

Mexico–US Comparative Perspectives Program, EAP Study Center, Mexico City (suspended after 2007-08)

Students may arrange their own housing, or they may choose pre-arranged housing in apartments or private homes for the first month of the program, then find their own housing after the ILP if they want to move. Students live with international students, UC students, and/or host country students.
