Netherlands: Special Focus Program: Maastricht University, Cognitive and Biological Psychology

Host Institution

Maastricht University: Cognitive and Biological Psychology

Highlights

Advanced undergraduates may study cognitive and biological psychology through one of the most innovative programs in the Netherlands. Using a problem-based learning methodology characterized by self-study, students are required to organize the learning process themselves. Theoretical and practical problems are integrated and arranged around themes that are addressed in small groups. Students develop and refine skills in conference presentation and oral and written communication. The program is academically rigorous and students must be motivated and well prepared. (details)

Duration

Spring semester: early January to late June
Academic year: late July to late June

Academic Focus

Cognitive and biological psychology provide the background and organizing principles for a structured curriculum. The courses are built on central themes, such as memory or language, and related knowledge and insights from a number of fields and scientific disciplines are studied. For course descriptions and additional information, see the EAP Course Information page.

Students attend classes with international students and host country students.

Language of Instruction
