Netherlands: Full Immersion Program, Utrecht University

Host Institution

Utrecht University

Highlights

Founded by the Romans in 48 CE and known for its cathedral, medieval churches, and picturesque canals, the town of Utrecht was a center for Dutch art in the 17th century and is where various international painting styles and themes were developed. Today, the city is home to several important institutes of research and of higher education, and it is a center for international business and trade. Students comprise approximately one-sixth of Utrecht’s 500,000 inhabitants, giving Utrecht a “university town” atmosphere.
Utrecht University is one of Europe’s most prominent institutions of research and education. Founded in 1636, the university is one of the oldest and, with 25,000 students and 3,000 faculty members, the largest of 14 Dutch universities. This program for advanced undergraduates and graduate students offers an increasing number of English language courses in several areas of study. (details)
