New Zealand: Immersion Programs

Highlights

New Zealand offers students exceptional opportunities to study a wide range of subjects within the arts, science, and commerce. Each university has its own specializations and strong offerings in many fields such as computer science, engineering, medicine, agriculture, environmental studies, indigenous studies, natural resource management, and public administration. Duration

Year: February to November (all host universities)
Spring semester: early February to early July (available at The University of Auckland, Lincoln University, and Massey University)

Students attending a spring semester program may extend their EAP participation to the full year option at the same university.

Academic Focus

Regular university courses in a student’s major or a related field. Most academic disciplines are available. For course descriptions and additional information, see the EAP Course Information page.

Students attend classes with international students and host country students.

Units

Students are required to take a full-time course of study while abroad; 21 UC quarter units per semester are required.

Housing

Residence in university dormitories or university-owned apartments is recommended at most universities, although students may seek private off-campus rentals. Students live with international students, UC students, or host country students. (details)
