Philippines: Filipino Language and Culture Program, University of the Philippines, Diliman, in Manila – Summer

Host Institution: University of the Philippines, Diliman (UPD)

While studying Filipino language and taking an interdisciplinary introduction to Philippine history, culture, and contemporary society, students enjoy immersion activities and numerous field trips that provide a natural setting for language practice and for gaining an understanding of local culture and issues of importance in the Philippines. Duration

Summer: early July to mid-August (calendar)

Academic Focus

One course in Filipino language and one course in Philippine history, culture, and contemporary society, including cultural workshops and field trips that enhance language learning. Students attend classes with UC students and other international students.

Units

Students are required to take a full-time course of study while abroad. 12 UC quarter units are required.
