Spain: Selection Criteria
Students must submit a complete application to the Campus EAP Office.

Application deadlines
Undergraduate applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
General
Requirements vary by program. Most programs have prerequisites and all programs
have a minimum GPA requirement. Some programs require one to two years of university-level
training in the host country language. For further details see your Campus EAP
Office and the EAP website.
In addition to program-specific requirements, all applicants must meet the following
minimum requirements:
- Serious academic goals and a clear plan for integrating EAP studies into
the student’s UC degree program
- Social and cross-cultural sensitivity; maturity; ability to adapt successfully
to a different environment and a new education system; ability to assess and
exhibit appropriate behavior in a variety of situations
- Willingness to abide by program regulations
- Endorsement by the Campus EAP Selection Committee and completion of all
campus-specific requirements (an interview may be required)
Language and Culture Programs
UC Center, Madrid
- Class level: sophomore, junior, senior, graduate
- Language prerequisite: No minimum. Maximum one semester/two quarters of first-year university-level Spanish.
- GPA: 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application and maintained through the end of the last term prior to departure. No exceptions.
- Admission: The Campus EAP Office determines selection and
final admission.
University of Córdoba
- Class level: sophomore, junior, senior, graduate
- Language prerequisite: One year (three quarters/two semesters)
—no more, no less—of first-year university-level Spanish. Students must be prepared to enter second-year intensive Spanish language classes.
- GPA: 2.5 cumulative and 2.5 language GPA at the time of application and maintained through the end of the last term prior to departure. No exceptions.
- Admission: The Campus EAP Office determines selection and final admission.
Hispanic Studies Programs
University of Alcalá
- Class level: junior, senior, graduate
- Language prerequisite: Minimum two years of university-level Spanish by the end of the last term prior to departure (or earlier if required by the Campus EAP Office)
- GPA: 3.0 cumulative and 3.0 language GPA at the time of application and maintained through the end of the last term prior to departure. Students below a 3.0 must confer with a Campus EAP Advisor before submitting an application.
- Admission: The Campus EAP Office determines selection and final admission.
Carlos III University
- Class level: junior, senior, graduate
- Language prerequisite: Minimum two years of university-level
Spanish by the end of the last term prior to departure (or earlier if
required by campus)
- GPA: 3.0 cumulative and 3.0 language GPA at the time of application and maintained through the end of the last term prior to departure. Students below a 3.0 must confer with a Campus EAP Advisor before submitting an application.
- Admission: The Campus EAP Office determines selection and final admission.
Academic Year Programs
Autonomous University of Barcelona
- Class level: junior, senior
- Language prerequisite: Minimum two years of university-level Spanish by the end of the last term before departure (or earlier if required by the Campus EAP Office)
- GPA: 3.0 cumulative and 3.0 language GPA at the time of application
and maintained through the end of the last term prior to departure.
Students below a 3.0 must confer with a Campus EAP Advisor before submitting
an application.
- Admission: The Campus EAP Office determines selection and final
admission for EAP.
University
of Barcelona
- Class level: junior, senior, graduate
- Language prerequisite: Minimum two years of university-level Spanish by the end of the last term before departure (or earlier if required by the Campus EAP Office)
- GPA: 3.0 cumulative and 3.0 language GPA at the time of application and maintained through the end of the last term prior to departure. Students below a 3.0 must confer with a Campus EAP Advisor before submitting an application.

Complutense University of Madrid
- Class level: junior, senior, graduate
- Language prerequisite: Minimum two years of university-level Spanish by the end of the last term before departure (or earlier if required by the Campus EAP Office)
- GPA: 3.0 cumulative and 3.0 language GPA at the time of application and maintained through the end of the last term prior to departure. Students below a 3.0 must confer with a Campus EAP Advisor before submitting an application.

University of Granada
- Class level: junior, senior, graduate
- Language prerequisite: Minimum two years of university-level Spanish by the end of the last term before departure (or earlier if required by the Campus EAP Office)
- GPA: 3.0 cumulative and 3.0 language GPA at the time of application and maintained through the end of the last term prior to departure. Students below a 3.0 must confer with a Campus EAP Advisor before submitting an application.
