Sweden: Lund University – Fall Semester Program

Highlights

The fall program begins in August with a short language and culture orientation. Students may also apply for the combined summer intensive language program (ILP) and fall semester at Lund University. (details)

Duration

Fall semester: mid-August to late December/early January (calendar)
Fall semester (with ILP): late June to late December/early January (calendar)

EAP extension is possible from the fall to the year program.

Academic Focus

During the fall semester, students take regular university course work taught in English in selected disciplines and courses in Swedish language and culture. Students at Lund can choose from among 90 educational programs in the sciences, engineering, social sciences, and humanities. (details)

Students attend classes with international students and host country students.

Language of Instruction

English or Swedish

Language study

Swedish language orientation or optional summer intensive language program (ILP). During the fall semester, additional Swedish language study is recommended, but not required.

Units

Students are required to take a full-time course of study on EAP.

ILP (optional): 3 to 10 UC quarter units in two Swedish language courses
Term: 20 to 24 UC quarter units. Students normally enroll in four to six courses per semester.

Housing

Students will be assigned to single rooms in a university dormitory. Students live in one of the large, modern student complexes. The rooms are usually larger than typical UC dorm rooms. Students live with other UC and international students, and Swedish students. (details)
