Sweden: Language and Culture Program, Lund UniversityHost InstitutionHighlightsThis program may be taken as a stand-alone summer program, but it also comprises the required intensive language program (ILP) for students in the academic year program and is optional for students participating in the fall semester at Lund University. (details) DurationSummer: late June to early August (calendar) Students (except sophomores) may extend their EAP participation from the summer to the fall or year program at Lund University. A residence permit must be obtained before departure and GPA requirements must be met. Academic FocusSwedish language and culture. The program offers course work at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. Swedish is used in the classroom from the start, in order to develop students’ competence in all aspects of the language, including reading, writing, grammar, and conversation. In addition to 120 hours of class work, the curriculum includes field trips, guest lectures, and social activities to introduce students to Swedish culture and society, and to Sweden’s role in Scandinavia and Europe.
