Sweden: Selection Criteria

Students must submit a complete application to the Campus EAP Office. Application deadlines are earlier than you think. Don't miss out!

 Application deadlines

Undergraduate applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

General

  • Serious academic goals and a clear plan for integrating EAP studies into the student's UC degree program
  • Social and cross-cultural sensitivity; maturity; ability to successfully adapt to a different environment and a new education system; ability to assess and exhibit appropriate behavior in a variety of situations
  • Willingness to abide by program regulations
  • Endorsement by the Campus EAP Selection Committee, and completion of all campus-specific requirements
  • An interview may be required

Joint UC-Lund Summer Program: Europe and America - A Dialog on Critical World Issues

  • Class level: junior, senior
  • GPA: 3.0 cumulative GPA by the end of the winter quarter (or spring semester) prior to departure (or earlier if required by the Campus EAP Office). Students below a 3.0 must confer with a Campus EAP Advisor before submitting an application.
  • Other: Two upper-division courses in the social sciences or humanities, or two courses in the student’s major. Specific classes may have their own prerequisites.
  • Admission: The Campus EAP Office determines selection and final admission.

Language and Culture Program

  • Class level: sophomore, junior, senior, graduate
  • GPA: 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application and maintained through the end of the last term prior to departure. No exceptions.
  • Admission: The Campus EAP Office determines selection and final admission.

Fall Semester Program

  • Class level: junior, senior, graduate
  • GPA: 3.0 cumulative GPA by the end of the last term prior to departure (or earlier if required by the Campus EAP Office). Students taking the optional summer ILP must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA by the end of the winter quarter (or spring semester). Students below a 3.0 must consult with a Campus EAP Advisor before submitting an application.
  • Other: Course registration at Lund is based on approval by faculties in which courses are requested. Prerequisites or other requirements may vary.
  • Admission: The Campus EAP Office determines selection and final admission.

Academic Year Program

  • Class level: junior, senior, graduate
  • Language: Prior study of Swedish is helpful, but not required.
  • GPA: 3.0 cumulative GPA by the end of the winter quarter (or spring semester) prior to departure (or earlier if required by the Campus EAP Office). Students below a 3.0 must consult with a Campus EAP Advisor before submitting an application.
  • Other: Course registration is based on approval by faculties in which courses are requested. Prerequisites or other requirements may vary.
  • Admission: The Campus EAP Office determines selection and final admission.
