Highlights

EAP offers course work in English through the Thammasat University International Programs in Business Administration, Economics, and Thai Studies. Students complement their course work with the experience of living in a traditional, graceful society juxtaposed with a vital, progressive economy. (details)

Students are encouraged to extend their EAP participation. Extension is possible from the fall to the year.

Academic Focus

Economics, business management, development, politics, and international relations with an Asian focus; and Thai language, history, religion, and culture. Students in the field work program are required to take a course on rural development and a course in Thai language during the spring semester. During the two-month summer field study module, students live in a village and work with local people on a rural development project. Students attend classes with international and host country students.

English

Language Study

Fall, spring, and year: Thai language study is strongly recommended but not required.

Units

Students are required to take a full-time course of study on EAP.

Term: 21 UC quarter units per semester (minimum of five courses, which is normally 25 UC quarter units)
Summer module: 9 UC quarter units (may be reduced to no less than 3 units on the variable unit option); offered on the pass/no pass grade option only.

Housing

Students live in local apartments approved by Thammasat University and share space with international students, UC students, and possibly host country students. (details)
