United Kingdom & Ireland: Beyond the ClassroomUK Internship OpportunitiesThe UC EAP programs in UK/Ireland and the UC Trust (UK) have developed the following internship opportunities for UC students. More will be added from time-to-time so check these pages regularly if you are interested in pursuing a position while you are in the Education Abroad Program or during the summer following. There are opportunities of various types, some asking for only a few hours per week and others seeking full time commitments. Each listing will provide sufficient information for you to determine if it is the "right" one for you; contact persons are also noted. These internship opportunities are designed to enhance an EAP student's experience while in UK/I. To earn academic credit for these internships, consult your departmental academic advisor at your home campus. It is also important to note that if you stay in the UK after your academic program ends, or if you are resident in Ireland, you need to be sure that you have proper UK Entry Clearance. In addition, you are responsible for your own insurance after your academic program in UK/I has ended. Click here for some suggestions on finding summer housing opportunities at local universities as well as in private lettings. Many of these internships are paid. For internships without a sipend you can apply for a grant from the Allan Buch Memorial Scholarship Fund.
