Cost of EAP Participation

EAP is Affordable!

In many cases the cost of study abroad is comparable to the cost of study at UC. In some cases, EAP costs less.

Financial Aid is Available

  • Students who do not currently receive UC financial support may qualify for aid while on EAP
  • Students who receive UC financial aid continue to receive grants, loans, and scholarships while abroad

Scholarships

  • EAP students are eligible for special grants and scholarships from UC, the host country, and other sources
  • Each year over $1 million in need-based scholarships are awarded to EAP students
  • EAP awards typically range between $1,500 and $4,000 and vary by program and participant's financial situation

Consult with your Campus EAP Office and Financial Aid Office for details about financial aid and scholarships.

Program Costs

The cost of study on EAP is comparable to the cost of studying at UC. The estimated total cost for each program is listed below (excluding campus fees, non-resident, and graduate professional school fees). All estimated totals include:

  • UC fees
  • Room and board
  • Books and personal expenses
  • Round-trip transportation
  • On-site orientation
  • Intensive Language Program expenses (where applicable)

Student costs for the subsequent year will vary from these figures due to currency fluctuations, program changes, changes in UC and campus fees, and other factors.
