UC Registration for the Term Following EAP

Below is 2006-07 information. For 2005-06 information, see that year's General Guide.

Campus Policies and Deadlines

Policies and deadlines for enrollment vary from campus to campus. During pre-departure orientation, Campus EAP Offices discuss return registration procedures. Once abroad, Campus EAP Offices may send information to students at the Study Center and/or post enrollment information on the Campus EAP website. Registration is done online at most EAP locations abroad.

If the student can access the Web abroad, enrolling electronically from abroad is the method to use. Otherwise, students will need to designate someone in the U.S. to register for them. Typically this person is either a parent or friend with whom the student is in close contact while abroad.

Billing statements with registration fee assessments and other outstanding charges are mailed to the student’s U.S. mailing address (either the permanent address or one designated by the EAP students). Fees must be paid on time or the student’s course list will be dropped. Some campuses also send registration instructions, including the student’s pass time, to the U.S. address.

If students miss their scheduled enrollment time, there are usually other open registration hours, often at night, when the student can register again. These times are listed in the Schedule of Classes online or in a separate directory. Some campus departments have accommodated EAP students who critically need certain upper-division courses and who were not able to register during the priority period. Access to required lower-division courses that should have been taken during freshman or sophomore years usually is not protected for late registrants.

For all UC campuses the Schedule of Classes can be accessed electronically via the Web. Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, and San Diego no longer print a Schedule of Classes; other campuses may send a reference copy to each Study Center, but students are advised to use the Web.

The Schedule of Classes can be accessed from the EAP website or by using campus-specific addresses.
