Novel Influenza A (H1N1) "Swine Flu"

November 23, 2009

UCEAP

UCEAP has been closely monitoring the current situation since April 20, 2009.  All EAP programs around the world are proceeding as scheduled. EAP participants are strongly advised to pay attention to announcements from the local government, monitor the local health situation, and follow all local health recommendations.

Although H1N1 is causing a clinical illness no more serious than seasonal flu, it can cause severe symptoms in some people (e.g., persons with chronic medical conditions). Therefore, it is important to remain vigilant, and for individuals to be clear about what steps to take if they get flu-like symptoms.

The University of California, Education Abroad Program, has compiled this resource of H1N1 Information for students, families, staff and faculty. It includes important updates from most EAP host institutions abroad. EAP’s goal is to ensure a timely flow of accurate information so this page will be updated frequently.
