Overview
Lyon is France's second largest city and it offers a unique combination of dynamism and classical beauty. Lyon is the capital of France's renowned wine region, Rhône-Alpes, which is only an hour away by car. It has glaciers and warm river valleys, mountains and lakes, some of the most beautiful medieval villages, and the best skiing in the world. Lyon has always been at the intersection of the cultures of Europe and beyond, and its strong economy produces nearly every ingredient of France's famously high quality of life. It is an excellent place to live, study, immerse yourself in France, and travel in every direction.
Students attend regular university courses with French and international students at the Université Lumière Lyon 2 and the Institut d’Études Politiques de Lyon (IEP). All instruction is in French.
Most applicants have only two years of university-level French before departure, but on-site language study plus immersion in daily life in France accelerates your language acquisition and makes taking courses taught in French both feasible and rewarding.
