Overview
Advanced undergraduate and graduate students in business administration, international business, and economics may attend the Business School at the University of Commerce Luigi Bocconi for a semester or full year. Bocconi recently has been adding degree programs in innovative areas such as Management of Arts, Culture, and Communication; and International Institutions Management. Many courses are taught in English. Bocconi is located in Milan, Italy’s commercial and financial center.
You will attend classes with Italian and international students. UC students with only one year of university-level Italian who wish to take courses taught in Italian can qualify by enrolling in the summer Pre-Intensive Language Program (pre-ILP), Siena.

Units
You will take a full-time course of study on EAP. The average course load is three to four courses per semester.
Pre-ILP: 3 to 15 UC quarter units
ILP: 3 to 8 UC quarter units (upper division)

Internships for academic credit and independent study projects may be possible in this program. Arrangements are generally made at the Study Center after arrival.

Extension of EAP participation is possible from the fall to the year program.
Housing
You may live in a university residence or private apartment in the city with Italian students, international students, or other UC students. University housing is prearranged by the International Housing Office at Bocconi. Students opting for a private apartment will arrange their own housing.
On-site Support
EAP students are supported by UC's network of EAP offices at every UC campus and partnerships with EAP host universities throughout the world. The UC Study Center for immersion programs in Italy is located in Bologna. The Study Center Director and staff oversee UC programs in Bologna, Milan, and Padova. The International Student Desk at Bocconi assists students with course registration, housing, and residence permits. They are available to answer student inquiries from the time of registration throughout the program.

Estimated Cost
Participation in EAP is a great value! The cost of EAP programs is typically less than that of non-UC study abroad programs. The dollar figures listed in the chart represent: 1) the amount of the fees that are paid directly to EAP in the current year, and 2) an estimate of the amount needed to cover personal living expenses in this location. Personal travel and entertainment are not included here.
Don't forget that you take your financial aid with you and the amount of your financial aid package will be based on the estimated TOTAL COST of this experience, as it is estimated below.

Application Requirements
Class Level
Junior, senior, graduate
Language Prerequisite
None for course work in English. Minimum two years of first- and second-year university-level Italian or one year plus enrollment in the Pre-Intensive Language Program (pre-ILP), Siena for course work in Italian.
GPA
3.0 cumulative GPA at the time of application and maintained through the end of the last term prior to departure.
If you will be taking courses in Italian: 2.85 language GPA at the time of application and maintained through the end of the last term prior to departure.
Other
Advanced undergraduates or graduates with a strong background in economics, management, or business administration, as well as mathematics.
Minimum Criteria
All applicants must also have:
- Serious academic goals and a clear plan for integrating EAP studies into
the student’s UC degree program
- Social and cross-cultural sensitivity; maturity; ability to adapt successfully
to a different environment and a new education system; ability to assess and
exhibit appropriate behavior in a variety of situations
- A willingness to abide by program regulations
- An endorsement by the Campus EAP Selection Committee and completion of all
campus-specific requirements (an interview may be required)

Supplemental predeparture materials will be required for many programs, including, but not limited to, host institution applications, visa and housing applications, medical clearances, etc.
