Summary

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration offers courses taught with a unique problem-based learning methodology that emphasizes a scholarly approach to practical problems and current issues in the field. Work in groups and set your own learning objectives based upon your background, education, and work experience. The program provides the means for advanced undergraduates and graduate students to study international business in the European context and to acquire and develop unique, marketable skills such as conference presentation and report writing.

Students attend classes with international students and host country students.

Duration

Fall semester: early August to late December
Spring semester: early January to mid-June
Academic year: early August to mid-June

Extension is possible from the fall to the year.

Language of Instruction

English

Language Study

All EAP students in the Netherlands attend a two-week Dutch Language and Culture course (DLC) in Utrecht prior to the beginning term at their host institution.

Internships, Research, and Independent Study

Internships for academic credit and independent study projects may be possible in this program. Arrangements are generally made at the Study Center after arrival at the host institution.

Units

You are required to take a full-time course of study on EAP. Students enroll in four courses per semester.

DLC: 3 to 4 UC quarter units (lower division)
Term: 18 to 24 UC quarter units per semester

Housing

The university offers accommodation through the Guesthouse UM. There are several facilities (large, dorm-like accommodations) located throughout the city. Students live with international students and UC students.

On-site Support

EAP students are supported by UC’s network of EAP offices at every UC campus and partnerships with EAP host universities throughout the world. UC faculty and local staff abroad help students integrate into the culture of their host country and provide assistance with academics, housing, safety, and other issues.
