EAP in Taiwan offers UC students excellent opportunities for intensive study of traditional Chinese language. You may also enroll in regular NTU courses taught in English or Chinese, depending on student language ability. NTU’s main campus is in a spacious, park-like setting surrounded by shops, restaurants, and other business. The campus is easily accessible from the bustling heart of downtown Taipei.

Students attend language classes with UC students and may attend regular NTU courses with host country students and international students.

For students who have less proficiency in standard Chinese, there are some regular host university courses taught in English in a limited number of fields. Students with native or near-native Chinese language ability are strongly recommended to apply to the year program; they will take all (or all but one) of their courses in the regular NTU curriculum taught in Chinese.

Fall semester intensive Chinese courses end in mid-December. Fall semester courses end in mid-January. Students who take regular NTU courses during the fall semester must remain in Taipei through the end of the NTU semester in mid-January. Early departures are not permitted.
